A. It is a memorial service.

B. It is a time to remind ourselves.

C. It is a time of fellowship and unity.

II. The New Covenant [Luke 22: 20].

A. The Mosaic law was a covenant between God and Israel.

B. Christ is the mediator of the new covenant (Hebrews 10: 15).

III. A Public Proclamation [1 Corinthians 11: 23 - 30].

A. We proclaim that Christ died.

B. We confess our belief.

IV. The Sacrifice [Matthew 26: 26 - 30].

A. His blood shed for remission of sins (1John 1: 7).

B. He sacrificed Himself for us (Hebrews 9: 26).

V. The Passover [Exodus 12].

A. The Passover Feast.

1. God to kill firstborn.
2. Sacrifice a lamb.
3. Place blood around door.

B. The Lord’s Supper.

1. Day of Judgment to come.
2. Must be washed in the blood of the lamb.
3. Protection from eternal death.
