THE GIFT OF LIFE

Introduction:

A. At This Time Of Year...

1. So many activities, places to go and people to see.

2. Thoughts of giving gifts (and often wanting to give more).

3. Memories of years gone by and special gifts given.

B. Give The Gift Of Life This Year (Eternal Life)!

Body:

I. What I Do Have (Acts 3: 1 - 10).

A. Silver and Gold.

1. So many are "living on the edge" financially.
2. So many gifts to give and so little time.

B. The gift of Jesus.

1. The most and the least expensive gift.
2. The power to lift people out of their misery.
3. The power to change their lives.

II. Grace...Justification...Righteousness (Romans 5: 14 - 18).

A. God's grace gave us this gift (15).

B. We are given justification, instead of condemnation (16).

C. We are given grace and righteousness (17).

D. We are given life (18, see also 6: 23).

III. Saved By Grace (Ephesians 2: 4 - 10).

A. God reached out to us before we reached out to Him (4, 5).

B. He wants to bless (7).

C. He has saved us (8).

D. We have been created to do good (10).

Conclusion:

A. The Results Of Gift Giving.

1. Some gifts are never received.

2. Some gifts are received and gotten rid of.

3. Some gifts are used, abused, broken, then thrown away.

4. Some gifts are cherished and last for a long time.
