GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD
Introduction:
A. We Are Richly Blessed.
1. As a nation - a land full of all good things, no war and
little strife.
2. As Christians - prosperity and peace to worship.
3. As people - we lack nothing (family, friends, opportunity).
B. We Have Much To Be Thankful For.
Body: Psalm 100: 1 - 5
I. Come Before The Lord.
A. The Way To Come.
1. With a joyful shout - heralding good, joy at being able to
be present (won a prize and "going down front").
2. Serve with gladness - in heart and appearance.
3. Come to Him singing - speaks what we oft cannot say.
B. The Reasons To Come.
1. He Is God - not a human, nor having human tendencies.
2. He is the Creator - if not for Him, we would not be.
3. We belong to Him - His people, His flock.
II. Our Presence Before Him.
A. What We Should Do.
1. Enter His gates with thanksgiving - worship, the house He
has given us to live in, city, nation, etc.
2. Be thankful - for all the good and the bad which has not
happened.
3. Bless His name - not use it in vain.
B. Why We Should Sing And Give Thanks.
1. He is good - no evil, "treats you right," etc.
2. He is merciful - vengeance is result of our continual mis-treatment of Him, mercy never ends to repenters.
3. He is truthful - He does not obscure the way, deceive, or
hinder us from knowing.
