II. A Scriptural Look At Repentance.

A. Acts 2: 36 - 40

1. Hearing God's Word and Believing it lead the people to ask what to do.
2. Peter instructed them to repent
a. Of not knowing the truth about Messiah (v. 14).
b. Of crucifying Jesus with lawless hands (v.23).

B. Acts 26: 20

1. Repentance leads one to turn (to God).
2. Repentance leads to changed works.

C. 2 Corinthians 7: 9 - 11

1. It is not sorrow. Godly sorrow produces repentance!
2. It leads one to salvation.
3. It produces inner and outer expression.

D. 2 Timothy 2: 24 - 26

1. Opens one to knowing the truth.
2. Causes one to come back to their senses.
3. Enables one to escape from the devil!
