B. The Best Thing In This Life Is A Gift!

1. God has given us eternal life (Romans 6: 23).

2. This is a gift He has freely given to us.

C. Even Though Eternal Life Is God’s Free Gift To Us…

1. A high price has been paid to give it to us.

2. There is a cost for those who accept this gift.

I. The Price Of Giving This Gift.

A. For the Father.

1. He did not spare His own Son (Romans 8: 32).

2. He has had to be patient with us (2 Peter 3: 9).

B. For the Son (Philippians 2: 5 - 8).

1. He emptied Himself of His majesty and glory.

2. He humbled Himself and became a servant.

3. He died a horrible death.

C. For the Spirit.

1. He dwells with us and in us (John 14: 16, 17).

2. He makes intercession for us (Romans 8: 26).

3. He endures grief from us (Ephesians 4: 30).

II. The Cost Of Receiving This Gift.

A. The denial of self.

1. We must learn to live by faith (Galatians 2: 20).

2. We must give up our wants and desires (Luke 9: 23).

3. We must live and walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5: 25).

B. We must accept Christ as Lord, as well as Savior.

1. God has made Him both Lord and Christ (Acts 2: 36).

2. Jesus make take priority in our life (Luke 14: 25 - 33).

Conclusion:

A. God Has Blessed Us With A Wonderful Gift.

1. He has freely given us forgiveness of sins.

2. He has given us freedom and salvation from this world.

3. He has given us the hope of living forever.
