2. Who is in charge of our decisions?

I. Authority Given to Jesus.

A. Matthew 28: 18 - all authority given to Him by God.

B. John 5: 26, 27 - authority to execute judgment.

C. Hebrews 2: 6 - 8 - set over all things.

II. Authority Over the Church.

A. Ephesians 1: 22, 23 - all things under His feet, He is the head.

B. Ephesians 5: 23, 24 - He is the head, the church is subject.

C. Acts 2: 47 - the Lord adds people to the church.

D. 1 Corinthians 3: 5 - 7 - God gives the increase.

III. Authority Over Individuals.

A. James 4: 4 - 8

1. Choose the world or God.
2. Those who choose God must humble themselves.
3. Out of humility - submit!
4. Draw near to God.

B. Colossians 3: 17 - speak and act as a representative of Jesus.

C. Romans 12: 1, 2

1. Give yourself to God.
2. Conform to His Will not the world.
3. Seek to know what is right in God's sight.
