A. How Many Are On A Health Plan?

1. Doctor imposed = low sodium, low cholesterol, etc.

2. Self imposed = diet, exercise, etc.

B. How Many Are On A Spiritual Health Plan?

1. 1 Timothy 4: 8 - "...but godliness is profitable for all things."

2. Matthew 6: 33 - "Seek ye first..."

Body:

I. Categories Of Spiritual Food.

A. Non-nutritional = enjoyable, relaxational, entertainment.

1. Does not enhance or deter health.
2. Too much or too little can be detrimental.

B. Poisonous = harmful, detrimental.

1. Worldly values.
2. Addictive exploits.
3. Violence (Genesis 6: 5, 13)

C. Nutritional = helpful, beneficial.

1. The Bible.
2. Spiritual writings (articles, books, etc.).
3. Edification from those who are like-minded.

II. A Spiritual Health Plan.

A. Find your baseline (2 Corinthians 13: 5).

1. What is your daily intake of each category?
2. What is filling your mind the most? The least?

B. Develop a plan for positive change.

1. Make up your mind (Colossians 3: 1, 2).
2. Prepare for battle (Ephesians 6: 10 - 18).
3. Equip yourself (2 Timothy 3: 16, 17).
4. Feed your spirit (Philippians 4: 8).

C. "Stick with it!"

1. Be steadfast (1 Corinthians 15: 58).
2. Beware...but grow (2 Peter 3: 17, 18).

Conclusion:

A. How Are You Doing Spiritually?

1. Are you growing and becoming more like God and Jesus?

2. Do you feel like you are "spinning your wheels."

3. Are you losing ground?

B. Are You Feeding Your Spirit?

C. Are You Getting Plenty Of Spiritual Exercise?
