WHO DO YOU CHOOSE?

Introduction:

A. We Make Many Choices.

1. What to wear, where to go, who to see, etc.

2. We also decide how we will feel and react to what happens.

3. The most important one is an eternal choice.

I. You Can Serve The Gods Of The Ancients.

A. Many religions purport to have an earlier beginning than Christianity.

B. There are many non-religious faiths which span the decades.

C. We can even follow the "gods/religion" of our family.

II. You Can Serve The Gods Of Those Around Us.

A. Many different sects, denominations, religions around us.

B. There is the worship of physical things [possessions, looks, status symbols, etc.].

C. There is the worship of pleasure [if it feels good, makes us feel good, makes us think we feel good, etc.].

D. There is the basic worship of self (humanism).

III. The Lord God.

A. The only True God.

B. He created us and everything about us.

C. He has given us all that we have, need and then some.

D. He has also provided for our future.

IV. The Rest Of The Story.

A. They chose and vowed to serve God.

B. That generation did serve the Lord.

C. Did not pass down knowledge of the Lord (Judges 2: 7, 10).

D. Children left God!

Conclusion:

1. Are you going to follow those who have gone before?

2. Are you going to follow the pathway those around are following?
