THE PEACE OF GOD

Introduction:

A. We Live In A Stress Filled World.

1. There is so much work to do.

2. There are so many placed to go.

3. There are so many people to see.

B. How Can We Be At Peace In A Peace-less World?

Body: Philippians 4: 6 - 9

I. It Provides Relief From Anxiety.

A. Pray to God - develop a personal relationship with Him.

B. Petition God - appeal to Him as one in authority.

C. Make your requests to God - He is the best "customer service representative you will ever talk to."

II. It Does Not Make Sense.

A. We have peace with God.

B. We have peace with ourselves.

C. We have peace with fellow human beings.

D. We trust God to take care of everything.

III. It Is The Body Guard Of The Heart And Mind.

A. The heart symbolizes our emotions and feelings.

1. Prayer protects us from being deceived by our feelings.
2. Prayer protects us from having our emotions and feelings running out of control.

B. The mind is the center of our thoughts and intellect.

1. Prayer reminds us of the truth.
2. Prayer calms and soothes our soul and spirit.
3. Prayer gives us “something we can do” to help.

IV. It Is Aided By Right Thinking.

A. We must be careful about what we dwell upon.

B. Unholy thoughts are the inward poison which destroy us.

Conclusion:

A. God Gives Us Peace.

1. With Himself through Christ's sacrifice.

2. With ourselves because we do not have to be perfect.

3. With others because we know God will right every wrong.

4. With life because we know it is only temporary.
