1. A preacher, teacher, elder, etc?

2. An important figure in life?

B. Why Do You Listen?

Body: Luke 9: 28 - 36

I. Jesus Is Praying.

A. Takes Peter, John and James.

B. Goes up on a mountain.

1. Closer to God?
2. Way to get away from people?

C. His appearance is changed.

1. His face is altered.
2. His robe was white and glistening.

II. Important Meeting.

A. Moses and Elijah talk with Jesus.

B. They discuss His forthcoming death.

C. The disciples sleep - soundly.

III. The Head of The Church.

A. Peter speaks up.

1. Their presence is good.
2. Make three places of worship (tabernacles).
a. Moses - symbolizing the Law.
b. Elijah - symbolizing the call to return to the Law.
c. Jesus - symbolizing ?
3. Did not know what He was saying.

B. God speaks.

1. A cloud overshadows them.
2. God commands they listen to His Son - not Moses and not Elijah (symbolizing the prophets).

Conclusion:

A. God Has Spoken.

1. Hebrews 1: 1 - 4 = spoken in many ways before, but now speaks through His Son.

2. We are to listen to Jesus - learn from pay attention to, etc.
