2. Heal diseases completely (Luke 4: 38ff).

3. Provide food (Luke 5: 1ff).

4. Heal deadly diseases (Luke 5: 12ff).

B. What's Next?

Body: Luke 5: 17 - 26

I. Jesus Teaching.

A. Pharisees and Lawyers.

1. Sitting by listening.
2. Came from every town.

B. The power of the Lord was present.

1. They may not have been ill physically, but they were ill spiritually.
2. They could have been healed.

II. A Paralytic Man.

A. Unable to walk.

1. He laid on a bed.
2. It took four men to carry him (Luke 2: 3).
3. They made a hole in the roof for him.

B. Faith Healing?

1. No mention is made about the paralytic's faith.
2. Jesus SAW the faith of the men.
3. Faith is something which affects our actions.

III. A Confrontation.

A. Why forgive his sins?

1. Was Jesus trying to start an argument?
2. How would this help him?
3. "My grace is sufficient..." (2 Corinthians 12: 9).
4. Proof of Deity.

B. Heals the man as proof He can forgive.

IV. The Results.

A. The man glorifies God.

B. The people were amazed, glorified God and feared.

C. What about the Pharisees?
