THE GROWTH OF JESUS

Introduction:

A. John the Baptist Born.

B. Jesus is Born.

C. Jesus Presented And Glorified in the Temple.

I. The Return To Nazareth (vs. 39, 40).

A. Matthew 2 occurs between (Matt 2: 11 = house).

B. The Boy Jesus.

1. He grows physically.
2. He grows spiritually.
3. He is filled with wisdom.
4. God's favor is upon Him.

II. The Return To Jerusalem.

A. The Feast of The Passover.

1. The Most Important Feast (Independence Day).
2. Hundreds of Thousands flocked to Jerusalem.

B. Jesus Not Found.

1. Traveling with friends, neighbors and relatives.
2. Jesus is an obedient, thoughtful child.
3. A frantic three days.

C. "My Father's Business."

1. Joseph was a carpenter, God is Truth.
2. He was in His Father's house.
3. Exhibits a love of the Truth.

III. The Return To Nazareth.

A. Goes with Joseph and Mary.

B. Is In Subjection = submits to them.

C. His Development (1 Samuel 2: 26).

1. Increases in wisdom.
2. Increases in stature - respect and height.
3. Increases in favor with God.
4. Increases in favor with men.

Conclusion:

A. The Example of Jesus.

1. He grows more pleasing to God.

2. He is concerned about God=s affairs.

3. He increases will in subjection.
