WALKING WITH JESUS

Introduction:

A. Ever See Someone You Know And Not Recognize Them?

1. Someone from a long time ago and they have changed.

2. Someone who you did not expect to see there!

B. Ever Not Recognize Your Best Friend Or A Relative?

1. Know them well, but do not expect to see them.

2. See them in a strange or different situation.

Body: Luke 24: 13 - 35

I. The Loss Of Their Dreams.

A. They believed Jesus was a Prophet.

1. He was mighty in deed and in word.
2. His actions and words were before God.
3. His actions and words were before all the people.

B. He was crucified - KILLED!

1. Religious leaders "did him in."
2. Hopes for restoration (redemption) dashed.

C. A rumor about Him being alive, but...

II. Their Eyes Are Opened.

A. Jesus teaches them the WHOLE truth.

B. Fellowship reveals Christ.

1. Cannot truly know Christ until we commune with Him.
2. Cannot truly know one another until we commune with one another.

III. When One Walks With Jesus.

A. A mind opening experience.

1. God's truth is learned.
2. God's ways are understood.

B. An eye opening experience.

1. Life is viewed differently.
2. Priorities are made different.

C. A life opening experience.

1. Desire to please God, regardless.
2. Treat others differently (love, give, help, sacrifice).

Conclusion:

A. Have You Walked With Jesus?

1. Learned the truth and had it affect your life.

2. Have your life turned "upside down."
