B. The Story Of The Ten Lepers
Body: Luke 17: 11 - 19
I. On The Way To Jerusalem.
A. He went through Samaria.
B. He went through Galilee.
C. He enters a certain village.
II. Request For Healing.
A. Ten Lepers.
B. Stood afar off.
1. Required by the law to remain outside camp (Leviticus 13:
46).
2. Required to stand between a rod or a hundred paces away.
C. Cry out for mercy.
1. See Jesus - recognize His Person.
2. Call Him Master - recognize His position.
3. Ask for His mercy - recognize His power.
III. The Power Of Jesus.
A. Tells them to go show the priests - required by the law.
B. They leave - a show of immediate obedience.
C. Sometime later, they are healed.
1. Jesus keeps His promise.
2. Shows power Jesus had over healing (delayed and distant).
IV. A Grateful Foreigner.
A. One returns to give thanks.
B. Grateful one is a Samaritan.
1. "Strange bedfellows?"
2. An example of gratefulness for the expected.
C. The place of faith.
1. All ten were healed of physical leprosy.
2. This one was made well - more than physical leprosy.
