THE RICH MAN AND LAZARUS

B. Jesus Tells Another Parable.

Body: Luke 16: 19 - 31

I. The Very Different Lifestyles.

A. The Rich Man.

1. Wore the most expensive clothes.
2. He enjoyed life to its fullest.
3. Never lacked for anything.
4. Never had any concern or need.

B. Lazarus.

1. He was a beggar, unable to work or provide for himself.
2. He was covered with sores.
3. He was always hungry, but never satisfied
4. The dogs licked his sores (but did not heal?).

II. The End.

A. Lazarus dies - carried by the angels.

B. Rich man dies - buried in the ground.

III. The Rich Man's Fate.

A. He is in Hades.

1. It is a place of torment.
2. It is a place of continual fire.
3. It is a place where you can see what you missed?
4. There is no crossing back and forth (separated!!).

B. He is concerned about family.

1. Realizes his fate is fixed.
2. Does not wish this upon his own brothers.

Conclusion:

A. What Is The Difference Between?

1. The rich man was taken care of in the life.

2. Lazarus was taken care of in the next life.

3. No mention about faith, deeds, etc.
