I. Unable To Understand.

A. The darkness does not comprehend the light.

1. Unable to fathom the reasoning.
2. Unwilling to see it's own true nature

B. The light is often unable to comprehend the darkness.

1. Cannot understand the mind set.
2. Unable to grasp the brutality and violence.

C. Contrary thought processes.

1. Darkness is concerned about the fleshly.
2. Light is concerned about the spiritual.

II. Opposite Outcomes.

A. Sin leads to death (James 1: 15).

1. It leads to physical death - of self and others.
2. It leads to spiritual death - of belief and eternally.
3. It leads to emotional death - of caring about others.
4. It leads to mental death - of respect for others.

B. Godliness leads to life (1 Timothy 4: 8).

1. It leads to life now.
2. It leads to life eternal.
