Introduction:

A.    What Is The Purpose Of A Will?

1.    It expresses the desires of the person concerning the inheritance they are leaving.

2.    It expresses guidelines for the disposition of the inheritance.

3.    It provides an opportunity to reward or punish inheritors.

B.    God Has Set Forth His New Will In The New Testament.

Body:    Hebrews 9: 16 - 28

I.    A Will.

A.    Created to detail the discharge of the inheritance.

B.    The will's creator must die for discharge to occur.

C.    Once the will has been executed, it is of no more effect.

II.    Purification By Blood.

A.    First covenant began with blood.

B.    Blood was required for purification.

1.    The blood provides life.
2.    The blood provides cleansing from impurities.

C.    There is no remission without blood.

III.    Sin Put Away.

A.    By sacrifice.

B.    Christ's death.

1.    He offered His own blood.
2.    He purified us to allow our entrance into the heavenly places.
3.    His blood was sufficient for purification for all.

C.    Christ's appearing.

1.    The first time was because of sin.
2.    The second time will be for salvation.

Conclusion:

A.    The Will Of God.

1.    The old will.

a.    Had many requirements.
b.    Was nearly impossible to keep.
c.    Did not encompass the fullness of "God's estate."

2.    The new will.

a.    Requirements are "fewer."
b.    Inheritance is greater.
