A GREATER HIGH PRIEST

Introduction:

A.      Scenario:  You Have A Malfunctioning Product.

1.       You go to customer service.

2.       A helpful CSR figures everything out and promises to have the situation resolved within a week.

3.       You return to find the CSR no longer works there.

4.       There are no records for your situation.

B.      How Would You Feel?

Body:         Hebrews 7: 20 - 28

I.       High Priest By Oath.

A.      Levitical High Priest not by oath.

B.      Jesus High Priest by oath.

1.       The oath was by God.

2.       He will not relent (regret or repent).

3.       Priesthood is forever.

C.      Jesus insures a better covenant.

II.      Eternal Intercession.

A.      Jesus is the only High Priest.

B.      No changing of leadership.

C.      He is the only one approaching God for us.

III.    Sinless Service.

A.      He is holy.

B.      He is harmless.

C.      He is undefiled.

D.      He is separate from sinners.

E.      He is higher than the heavens.

F.      He needs no sacrifice for Himself.

G.      He has no weaknesses.

H.      He has been perfected forever.

Conclusion:

A.      Our High Priest Will Always Be There.

1.       To hear our problems, etc.

2.       To make intercession for us.

3.       To be our High Priest.
