I. This Is A Test!

A. God examined Abraham’s faith.

1. He tried and proved Abraham’s faith.

2. Abraham’s faith was shown by His obedience.

3. Abraham withheld nothing from God.

a. He viewed everything as being from God.

b. He was willing to give back whatever God requested.

B. Human Sacrifice (Genesis 22: 1 – 19).

1. God commanded Abraham to offer his son.

2. Abraham obeyed.

a. He made preparation for the sacrifice.

b. He traveled 3 days journey.

c. He prepared the altar.

d. He prepared his son for sacrifice.

e. God interceded and provided an animal sacrifice.

II. Faith In The Unlikely.

A. God would keep His promise.

1. God had clearly stated the promises were through Isaac.

2. Abraham’s seed was to be as the stars and sand.

3. All the nations would be blessed through Isaac.

B. God was able to raise Isaac from the dead.

1. God is the creator of human life.

2. God is capable of recreating life.

3. Isaac was resurrected.

a. Abraham had committed to offering him.

b. Abraham endeavored to carry out the act.

c. He was figuratively brought back.

Conclusion:

A. Do We Have A Faith Like Abraham’s?

1. Whatever he had belonged to God.

2. Whatever God asked he was willing to obey.
