Introduction:

A. We Have Been Blessed.

1. Chosen by God.

2. An eternal inheritance is prepared.

3. We have seen His Salvation.

4. We have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus.

B. Our Response.

1. Prepare our minds.

2. Obey.

3. Love one another.

I. A Matter of Fact.

A. Purified our souls.

1. Precious metal is first purified to become worthwhile.

2. Clay must be free of impurities for pottery.

3. We have been purified.

a. To be acceptable to God.

b. To be useful for God.

B. In obeying the truth.

1. Purification comes through obeying God=s word.

2. Purification comes through obedience which is directed by the Spirit.

C. In love.

1. Must be sincere.

2. Of the brethren.

3. Must be fervent.

4. Must be with a pure heart.

II. A Matter of Reminder.

A. Born Again.

1. Not of corruptible seed.

2. Through the word of God.

B. The Word of God.

1. It lives.

2. It abides (habitation) forever.

C. Man compared to the Word.

1. We are temporary.

2. The Word is permanent.

A. Have You Purified Your Souls?

B. Do You Have A Sincere, Fervent, Pure-Hearted Love?
